According to the United Nations Development Program, LGBTQIA+ people are really experiencing tolerance rather than inclusion in places where it appears they are accepted. Their “Allies” don’t mean any harm. They just don’t know better, as they’ve grown up in a heteronormative society.
We needed to include both LGBTQIA+ people and the well-meaning but fumbling people in their lives. Showing what limited love looks like in a personal and non-accusatory way. We offer better samples on UNLIMITED LOVE in a helpful and educational way. This is how we can transform tolerance to acceptance.
We created the THE UNLIMITED LOVE LANGUAGE LEARNER – A platform for 1) LGBTQIA+ People to talk about the well-meant but hurtful things they’ve heard, and suggest what can be said instead; and 2) straight people to browse and learn without the feeling of being shamed. The anonymity of the UNLIMITED LOVE LANGUAGE (people may engage with it using any name they were comfortable with) helped foster conversations that people would not have been comfortable having ordinarily in a culture that would prefer not to talk about these things.
