The Nescafe FARm Filter
Connecting coffee drinkers with the coffee farmers through social AR technology

Nescafe has a program that gives support and resources to their partner-farmers for a continuous livelihood and steady income. The program also allows the fans of the brand to visit their partner-farms for them to get to see and experience a day of a coffee farmer.
But in 2021 and with pandemic still going, instead of bringing people to the farms Nestle brought the farms to the them with the Nescafe fARm filter on Instagram and Facebook. An innovative social AR technology that lets people experience three Nescafe coffee farm experiences. Users (“visitors”) interact with the coffee farm using fun and intuitive gestures that triggers delightful animations: 1) bow and give respect for a coffee plant to grow ; 2) Gently pick the falling coffee beans like how coffee farmers lovingly do it; 3) blow the steam from a cup of hot Nescafe coffee to savor it. Each gesture and animation are paired with an important information about the Nescafe Farmer Advocacy.
With the Nescafe fARm filter, we showed users how the energizing Nescafe coffee also energizes the lives of the coffee farmers across the Philippines.
